Robert Rodriguez’s From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) is famous for its radical genre shift—spending its first half as a tense Tarantino crime thriller about two criminal brothers taking hostages, then suddenly transforming into an all-out vampire splatterfest when they arrive at a strip club called the Titty Twister. Salma Hayek’s snake dance as vampire queen Santánico Pandemonium, performed with a live albino Burmese python, became one of the most iconic scenes of 1990s cinema.
